Musicians… so many details go into a release and as many of you viewing have seen, my release has been a long time coming. I’ve still not quite figured out the format or the date. At any rate, singles will be released shortly! The @BandFight win in May 2015 was perspective enhancing.
Musicians for the most part, just want to play music. Whether or not art has value depends on how it’s presented and what it conveys to people. Music should connect with people and bond people together. Every artist fears rejection and fears being misunderstood or fears that intimate connection.
A moment of realization that you’re equipped for major challenges; confident that anything is possible.
In life, you can try to predict the outcome of your actions but you cannot always cherry pick. Even the best map can lead you off course. The only factor you can control is yourself. You can choose whether to be reactive, letting emotions carry you away or proactive and mindful; an observer of your mind who can choose the best course of action.
The biggest issue we face in society is the lack of connection. Many are in a state of fear that people will reject them if they reveal some form of weakness. We mistake vulnerability for weakness, but it’s in sharing that vulnerability that empathy is born. The arts are about raw emotion. It’s incredibly stressful to live life terrified that people will judge us harshly for the things we reveal. However, when we choose to share and be vulnerable. The wounds turn to scars. Stories that we realize used to be a part of us. Often trauma turns us into more empathetic and resilient people. If we can let go of trauma, a whole new landscape opens up for human connection.
Life is meant to be lived with an adventurous spirit. Connect. Allow people to impress you, be grateful, welcome the surprise and who knows maybe you’ll even surprise yourself. Thanks for reading =)
